Biography
Dr. Sundaram Hariharan
Sundaram Hariharan, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Interim Chief of Nephrology at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Formerly, he was a Lecturer in Nephrology at Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore, India, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. Hariharan received his medical degree from University of Bombay in India. His postgraduate training included a rotating internship at University of Bombay and a residency in internal medicine at LTMM College Hospital of Bombay; he was also a registrar in nephrology at Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore and at Jaslock Hospital and Research Center in Bombay. Dr. Hariharan is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he holds subspecialty certification in nephrology.
Dr. Hariharan is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Transplant Physicians, and the International Transplant Society, and he participates locally on a number of committees. He has written articles and abstracts that have appeared in such journals as Transplantation, Clinical Transplantation, American Journal of Kidney Disease, American Journal of Transplantation, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Hariharan is highly involved in research activities related to renal disease and transplantation, and he has lectured internationally. He has reviewed abstracts for meetings of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Transplant Congress.
