Biography
Dr. Laurence A. Turka
Dr. Laurence Turka, a graduate of Yale Medical School, is the C. Mahlon-Kline Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is the Chief of the Division of Renal-Electrolyte & Hypertension.
Dr. Turka’s research interests include transplantation immunology and T cell tolerance in particular. Dr. Turka’s laboratory is currently investigating the signaling mechanisms controlling CD4+CD25+ Regulatory T Cells as well as the basis of T cell resistance to the induction of tolerance through typical immunosuppressive strategies.
